This is the project I have been beavering away on for the past week - a new sewing case!

I was inspired to make a new sewing case because of the poor state of my existing one (or not, as the case was - all my stuff was in a plastic lunch bag!). Once I knew I wanted to make a sewing pouch, I made a list of everything I’d want to keep in it - buttons, iron-on gems, a variety of threads, needles, pins etc, so that I knew how many pockets I’d need and what size.
I also googled and found a few existing examples, more out of curiosity than anything. Most were rediculously garish, like this one, but others were very beautiful and a total inspiration, like this one from Buzzeville.
Where did the flower idea come from? I’m not sure to be honest. My favourite colours are orange and red, so it just sprang to mind. I’m a bit of a hippy at heart!
OH - and this is a photo of my gorgeous sewing machine! The colours make me think of those old 1950’s Cadillacs and poodle skirts…
